Note on the canon: The Brides of Chance Creek series, perhaps better known to some as Issued to the Bride, is a wild ride of a military/Western/forced-marriage/magical het romance-novel series about an extremely unethical General who coerces military guys under his command into marrying his many estranged daughters, all of whom are also kinda-sorta witches. My interest in the series comes almost entirely from book 6, Issued to the Bride: One Sergeant for Christmas, which is nominally about the General giving his loyally devoted young aide his reward for helping out with this military sex-trafficking scheme in the form of being issued a wife of his own and becoming part of the General's family, but that really doesn't seem to be what either of them want... (hint: they want each other). The book is available wherever fine romance novels are (check your library/e-book service, maybe)! Infidelity: Technically I don't see Valentino cheating on Vox, because Valentino wouldn't have said anything about being monogamous. Trans Headcanons: I usually prefer them both going by he/him, but if you want to make one or both transition into or from women or nonbinary? Also good. Val particularly being good with fluidity and taking it is stride is excellent. I imagine Vox would have more hangups with it.
